From 2021, the Ministry of agriculture plans to introduce subsidies for farmers ‘ expenses for the introduction of scientific developments

The Government will allocate 50.4 billion tenge to Finance agricultural science in the next 3 years. This was announced by the Minister of agriculture Saparkhan Omarov at a briefing in the CCS under the President of Kazakhstan

“In his Address to the people of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set tasks in the field of development of agricultural science and training of highly qualified specialists for modern agriculture. As you know, today about 70% of farmers in the world are ruined due to lack of knowledge. This is due to the lack of opportunities to study and improve their skills, as well as the development of agricultural science itself, ” the Minister said.

Currently, the Ministry of agriculture has revised approaches to providing knowledge dissemination services for agribusiness entities. To this end, the structure of subsidiaries of the national agrarian research and education center has been transformed, which now fully meets the requirements of international standards and is focused on business needs. On the basis of research institutes, experimental stations, experimental production facilities of the Republic, 22 centers for the dissemination of knowledge have been created, and permanent consulting centers have also been organized.

In addition, work is underway to ensure sufficient funding for agricultural science. So, this year the Higher scientific and technical Commission under the Government approved the total amount of program and target financing for the next 3 years in the amount of 50.4 billion tenge, which is 2.3 times more than in the previous three-year period. With these funds, it is planned to develop 36 scientific and technical programs in 10 priority areas of research (crop production, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, processing of agricultural raw materials, etc.).

“To ensure the demand for domestic scientific research by business and solve the problem of shortage of professional personnel, all the necessary regulatory and legal framework has been created. Thus, the status of research universities was assigned to two major agricultural Universities-the Kazakh national agrarian University and the Kazakh agrotechnical University. Seifullina. Work in this direction will continue, ” Omarov said.

Along with this, according to him, from next year it is planned to introduce subsidies for the costs of agricultural entities for the introduction of scientific developments, which will create additional economic incentives for the introduction of modern technologies and innovations, as well as ensure the integration of business and science.
